It’s about time the next generation of console gaming came around, and with it comes all of the speculation you would expect around the top three contendors. While Nintendo’s Wii U proved to be a successful release, Microsoft and Sony are slightly lagging behind. I am perfectly OK with this, as we all know what happened when the 360 was rushed out only to be later labelled as a ticking time bomb due to the legendary red ring of death.
With the Xbox One, Microsoft is taking the console beyond playing games and giving it the tools to be essentially labelled as an all-around media PC with the ability to play games at an astonishing detail, as well as introducing many social aspects to keep gamers as connected as possible. I can see this as being benefecial as I like to play with friends, and the more tools you give game developers to enhance cooperative or versus gameplay with social features is just the icing on the cake.
