My Thoughts on the Xbox One

Xbox One

It’s about time the next generation of console gaming came around, and with it comes all of the speculation you would expect around the top three contendors. While Nintendo’s Wii U proved to be a successful release, Microsoft and Sony are slightly lagging behind. I am perfectly OK with this, as we all know what happened when the 360 was rushed out only to be later labelled as a ticking time bomb due to the legendary red ring of death.

With the Xbox One, Microsoft is taking the console beyond playing games and giving it the tools to be essentially labelled as an all-around media PC with the ability to play games at an astonishing detail, as well as introducing many social aspects to keep gamers as connected as possible. I can see this as being benefecial as I like to  play with friends, and the more tools you give game developers to enhance cooperative or versus gameplay with social features is just the icing on the cake.

Nick, Meet Krav Maga

Life this year has been nothing other than peachy. After going through a huge stint getting caught up to my waste in trash debt, I am back to being in the comfortable life I had prior. One of the cool new things to happen in my life, which is what this post is about, is Krav Maga, and it’s awesome. After checking the place out yesterday, I went back today to complete my first training session, which was very intense. I am already addicted!

Stepping Away From the Tiles

It has been a long while since I have posted any content here. As stated on asides featured on the previous design, I declared an indefinite hiatus while I figured a few things out in real life. While doing this, I put in much thought into re-creating the blog in a way to be more writer-centric. After a few months of continuously checking a popular website that features incredible freelance work, ThemeForest, a design was released that did exactly what I was looking for: create an atmosphere of readability. With that being said, welcome to the new imNJS!

SimCity Releases Closed Beta to Participants

Woke up this morning with a nice email from Electronic Arts stating that their anticipated city building simulator, SimCity, is ready to be downloaded and tested! Being a huge fan of the SimCity series since back in the days, this came as very exciting news. It has been 10 years since SimCity 4 hit the shelves, a franchise gap that is almost unheard of. Patience is a virtue though, and it has definitely paid off.

TC Electronic Announces TonePrint Software for 2013 Lineup

For those of you with the newest lineup of TC Electronic pedals, the company has announced that 2013 will be the year that the custom TonePrint software is finally released! What does this mean? Well, we won’t be limited to a (rather large) preset library on the TC Electronic website, but can make our own. It’s almost as if it allows you to make your own pedal.

New For 2013: Music Man JP13 John Petrucci Signature Guitar

As with every year, musical instrument manufacturers go above and beyond to bring the latest and greatest instruments to the shelves of eager consumers, like myself. Music corporation Ernie Ball doesn’t lag behind; it’s successful Music Man branch of quality USA-made guitars and basses has taken the world by storm, and they wouldn’t have been able to do it without successful artists like John Petrucci.

Elder Scrolls Online Closed Beta Signups Now Open

If I didn’t already have enough excitement, I got an email from a trusted fast-delivering PC gaming source this morning saying that the closed beta signups for Elder Scrolls Online were now open. I instantly jumped out of my bed to run to my PC so I could be (hopefully) one of the first entries (not that it matters, I was just that excited).

Welcome to the New imNJS!

Welcome to the darker, more realistic side of my blog. The other design was cool, but seeing that I do most of my blogging at night, I appreciate a design that is a bit easier on the eyes. I think it fits my personality a little better too! Also, we are now on a fully-redundant cloud-enabled VPS through Sparknode and running at rediculous speeds thanks to the Litespeed web server. Let us know if you encounter any problems.

A Quick Tidbit on WordPress Spam Control

So, as a long-time on and off blogger there is always things that I prepare myself to expect every time I take on a new personal project. One of these things, unfortunately, is spam. It is what us bloggers battle with on a daily basis. However, there are (free) solutions out there that can help keep those pesky buggers at bay. Shall we?
